Tarot Wisdom: Temperance
In this card we see the angel pouring water between two cups, one foot is in water, one on dry land. The sky is both sunny, yet cloudy. Half the land is baren, and half is growing nicely. This card reminds us that there is a reason and purpose to all things. All seasons, even the harshest seeming ones serve life in a productive way. We must learn to find the purpose and deeper meaning in all situations. Dwelling on negatives only causes more pain, what we believe is what we create. It is important to take an active interest in ourselves, avoid overindulgence, and maintain balance. This ensures a healthier outlook. Return to Free Reading Page |

Temperance 1st Position: Things you thought you had dealt with that resurface, feelings of being tested or pushed. Feeling you need spiritual assistance or divine intervention to solve a problem for you. Going to extremes or being off balance. 2nd Position: Needing to find a sense of purpose and find balance in your life. Overcoming challenges, reforming bad habits, restoring balance to areas of your life by depending on your spiritual connection to act as your inner compass. 3rd Position: Fear of failure or loss may keep you justifying pursuing the wrong paths, but you will not nor should you give up what you know to be true for yourself. Health problems and financial troubles can also be indicated here. A need to balance between the spiritual/material planes of existence. 4th Position: Reforming old habits, changing your beliefs, learning to take a more proactive approach to your life. What we believe we create, and what we focus on tends to be drawn to us. If we focus on feelings of "I Can't" or "I don't have enough" we draw limitation and lack to us. Learn to counter negatives with positives, learn to respect and enjoy all things in moderation. Too much of anything can have reverse effects. Balance and counterbalance are the lessons of this card. 5th Position: Now is a good time to exercise discernment and take a pro-active and conscious approach through observing your emotional, thought, and behavior patterns to get to the underlying issues at hand. Doing so will help you to restore balance to your life.
