Tarot Wisdom: The Devil
In this card we see the shackles of despair, anger, regret, which can keep us entangled and unable to see the whole truth of a situation. The Devil above the heads of these people indicates the master force behind all that keeps us struggling .... Fear. The Devil 1st Position: Problems seem to be in focus at the moment, feelings of being in a negative chain of events or circumstances. A tendency to bite off more than one can chew, or to set oneself up for a fall. Your perception is not accurate now. a cautionary card that says slow down! what you are about to do may not serve your highest good. 2nd Position: You feel a need to get past adversity to break free from the chains that bind you. Feeling as though you are in a 'hell" or prison and wanting to break free but not knowing how. Obsessive desires, addictions, and other types of self-inflicted prisons are often depicted by this card. 3rd Position: Feeling blocked at every turn , feeling as though you are always fighting an uphill battle to succeed. Paranoia that people are out to get me. Treading water and starting to sink. Can indicate financial or marital troubles that seem insurmountable, indicates a self-induced prison often in that one does not see the alternatives available or doesn't care. 4th Position: You need to learn that how you direct your thoughts and feelings is how you expend your energy. If you always focus on the negative not only will you remain frustrated you will in turn bring more negativity to you. Learn to count your blessings even if they seem small and gain some more perspective. Especially in times of extreme emotion, it is better to redirect thoughts and behaviors in new ways, than it is to sink into complacency or hide from the truth. This is the ultimate card of self-deception. 5th Position: Caution is indicated here. This is the card of self-deception. Be honest with yourself.
