Tarot Wisdom: The Hierophant
In this card we see the leader engaging his audience. He speaks and they listen attentively to what he has to say. He shows strength and discipline, and has earned the respect of his peers. He respects his role as a part of the whole, he knows without the support of all members, the group cannot function effectively. This is the card of both the teacher and the student, a willingness to let others take the lead when necessary, and the strength to stand up and lead yourself when needed. The Hierophant 1st Position: Focus is on structure, seeking understanding and new opportunities. Freeing yourself from restriction. Family and business establishments - groups. Being a part of the whole. 2nd Position: You want to free yourself from restriction and eliminate the things in your life that keep you from having what you want. A desire to develop discipline, leadership qualities, and/or to establish a position of importance. 3rd Position: Conflicts with people, ineffective communication, things not happening as you planned. Feeling you are misunderstood or that people don't respect your opinions/beliefs or otherwise value your contributions. 4th Position: To achieve peace and harmony sometimes means making concessions, but it also means not allowing your values to be compromised as well. A good blend of leadership and teamwork makes for a more harmonious environment. Don't allow others to get the upper hand, but don't become so caught up in defending your own position you forget the feelings of others. Diplomacy at its finest is indicated by this card, true leadership does not impose its will forcefully. 5th Position: Develop your strength of will and don't let yourself be overcome. Self-discipline is highlighted, as well as being a good leader through setting positive examples.
