Tarot Wisdom: The High Priestess
In this card we see the woman poised between opposing sides of a situation, she sits with the book of wisdom in her lap, and the moon which represents emotions lies beneath her feet. She appears serene and detached, looking silently within for her answers, her intuition and keen sense of logic serve her well. You won't pull the wool over this queens eyes, her vantage point is too high. She reminds us of the importance of detaching from issues before making important decisions, the need to take careful, decisive action, rather than engage in reaction. Return to Free Reading Page |

The Priestess 1st Position: The Priestess indicates hidden talents and the ability to look past the obvious. When drawn in the first position it indicates to me someone who is making plans, masterminding a scheme. They may be starting to doubt their own judgment, seeking second opinions, uncertainty, not quite able to fully intuit the situation. 2nd Position: The Priestess in the second position indicates someone who is results oriented. This person wants to have their desire and are nervous that their plans might fail. 3rd Position: The Priestess here indicates impatience may be causing you to miss the point. Lack of immediate results or a desire for instant gratification may cause upset. Appearing cold, aloof, or detached to others due to being guarded, perhaps a bit "paranoid". She also indicates a need to approach situations honestly. Ensure our intentions truly are for the highest good. Take time to be still and allow your answers to reveal themselves to you rather than chasing them. 4th Position: The Priestess here indicates learning to trust your judgment and ideas without immediate results. Don't let anxiety or self-doubt hold you back or divert you from your goals. Learn to recognize self-defeating patterns or habits from the past and correct them. Look at all sides of a situation thoroughly and objectively. Your inner wisdom will show you the way. Intuition is highlighted now. 5th Position: The Priestess in the fifth position indicates a need to stay connected to your Higher Self. Tap into the Wisdom which lies within you. Careful consideration and honest observation are what bring you to correct conclusions. Don't compromise your higher principles out of desire for a specific outcome.
